Daily Devotion: God Bless the Remnant

Bible Reading: Zephaniah 3:13-20

Key Verse: Verse 13 - “The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid."

Key Words: the remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity

Down through the annuls of time God has always had His remnant that loved Him and did righteously.

We all like to quote II Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The blessings of a nation have always been determined, not by the lost world, but by those who are “God’s people.” When a nation is declining in sin, it’s because of the spiritual condition of God’s people. It’s God’s people living in sin that’s the real problem!!

Many Christians will never get clarity about their situations because there is unaddressed sin in their lives. Sin, like rotten garbage, repulses God and sends Him the other way. God will not skip sin to give blessing. He won’t just ignore it and decide not to worry about it. Why? Even though He loves His children, He can’t compromise His character. He can’t stop being God just to make a Christian feel better.

There are people who struggle with allergies because the air has been contaminated with dust and pollen. Allergies can make life miserable. In order for the allergies to get better, the air that a person breathes in has got to get cleaner. In order for God to clarify His way, the way, the air must get holier.

What to do:
✞ Remember, while believers blame the world for all their ungodliness; it’s God’s remnant which refuses to repent that’s the real problem.
