Bible Reading: Matthew 26:47-56
Key Verse: Verse 52 - “Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.”
Key Words: Put up again thy sword
He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.
You have to admire the courage of Peter to confront a whole group of Roman soldiers (John 18:10). But you have to admire more Jesus, Who put the ear of Malchus back in place.
We do live by the sword but not the sword made by the hands of man, but by the Word of God, which is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.
