Key Words: Be still, and know that I am God
We do live in a busy world which causes us to run hither,
thither, and yon. We seem to be pulled
in various directions. The truth is that
we must learn to say “no” to some of the demands made upon us. The right order of priority should always be
God first, family second, and extra-curricular activities third.
The
psalmist encourages us to be still and know that God is still in control, and
He alone can bring order out of disorder. (Psalm
46:10)
Before
refrigerators were invented, icehouses were used to preserve food. The icehouses had thick walls, no windows,
and tightly fitted doors. Large blocks
of ice were obtained during the winter and covered with sawdust to prevent
melting. This allowed the ice to last
into the summer months.
What to do:
✞ Make sure your priorities are in order. Put God first in your life.
✞ Do not desire to please people as much as you desire to please the Lord.
