Key Words: For I the Lord love judgment
God
loves judgment because His judgment is done through truth while man’s judgment
will, on occasion, fall far short of truth; for example, when Jezebel had two
false witnesses who accused Naboth of blaspheming God and the king. As a result, Naboth was stoned to death –
total injustice! But God, Who knows all,
judged Jezebel and declared her guilty.
Her body was cast off the balcony and the dogs ate her flesh. As horrible as it may sound, God’s judgment
was just, for if you take a man’s life, your life is required. God’s judgment is true.
Once,
when Calvin Coolidge was Vice President and presiding over the Senate, an
altercation arose between two senators.
Tempers flared and one senator told the other to “go straight to
hell.” The offended senator stormed from
his seat, marched down the aisle and stood before Mr. Coolidge who was silently
leafing through a book.
“Mr.
President,” he said, “Did you hear what he said to me?”
Coolidge
looked up from his book and said calmly, “You know, I’ve been looking through
the rule book and you don’t have to go.”
What to do:
✞ Remember God loves judgment because His judgments are based on the truth. Now, we should rejoice in that.
