Bible Reading: Psalm 14
Key Verse: Verse 1 - “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."
Key Words: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God
For the atheist not believing in God is a convenience thing. It makes it easy to live a corrupt life when you have convinced yourself that you are not and will never be accountable to God. Being atheistic makes it easier to do abominable things. So the atheist is at the top of the fool chain and his excuses for living a corruptible and abominable life is “there is no God.”
John Baillie in his book, Our Knowledge of God, writes “According to the teaching of our Lord, what is wrong with the world is precisely that it does not believe in God. Yet it is clear that the unbelief which he so bitterly deplored was not an intellectual persuasion of God's non-existence. Those whom he rebuked for their lack of faith were not men that denied God with the top of their minds, but men who are apparently incapable of doubting him with the top of their minds, lived as though he did not exist.”
Atheism is nothing more than one's excuse for living a corrupt and abominable life, while rejecting a life of righteousness.
