Daily Devotion: There’s More
Bible Reading: James 4:1-6
Key Verse: Verse 6 - “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
Key Words: he giveth more grace
Growing up in a small town in South Alabama where just about everyone would grow their own fruits and vegetables, my parents grew their own, for sure. I can remember having to shell the first fruits of the peas that were harvested, bushels of them. Every time I thought we were about finished, here come another bushel. I thought it would never end. God’s grace is that way…never-ending.
A little boy had an accident and was taken to the hospital. After he was made comfortable, a nurse brought him a large glass of milk.
He looked longingly at it, but he did not pick it up. He had come from a poor home where his hunger was seldom satisfied. If he ever received a glass of milk, it was only partly filled, and even that had to be shared with another child.
Finally he looked up at the nurse and asked, “How deep may I drink?” The nurse replied, “Drink it all! There’s more.”
So it is with God’s grace, you will never consume it all.
What to do:
✞ Thank God for His never-ending grace. You will probably need it today.
