Verse: Verse 13 – “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to
man: but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
Key Words: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man
Some believers have a difficult
time distinguishing between Satan tempting and God testing.
We are told in James
1:13b, “…for God cannot be tempted with
evil….” Satan tempts us with sin and
to do evil. God tests us to see if we
will do good. Satan beckons us to disobey God.
God calls us to go and do good.
· For example,
Adam and Eve were told by Satan to eat (bad): no doubt a temptation from
Satan.
· David
committed adultery: no doubt a temptation from Satan.
· But Jonah was
called to preach (no evil there): a test from God!!

What to do:
✞ Remember, “Temptation is the devil whistling at the keyhole; sinning is opening the door and letting him in.” ~~ Billy Sunday
