Have you ever given any serious consideration to the fact that God’s Word tells us how to vote in a political election? There are three Biblical keys that will give you knowledge as to how you should vote, not just in the upcoming election, but every political election.
First of all, you can know who to vote for through endorsement. Amos 3:3, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” We read in II Corinthians 6:14, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?” While we apply this Scripture to marriage, its context is dealing with idolatry. You know a person by who endorses them. For example, can you honestly vote for a person from a Biblical view if they are endorsed by the ACLU, or the pro-choice group, or by the gay rights people? Think about it.
Secondly, you can know who to vote for through evaluations.
- Do they have a record of doing what they say they will do?
- Evaluate their agenda on social issues such as socialized medicine, abortion, education, etc.
Understand that separation of church and state is not in the Constitution, but even more important, it’s not in the Bible.
I hope you vote, but I pray you vote Biblically.
What to do:
✞ Base your vote on Biblical principles, not man’s promises.
